Furs is a sidetrade used to produce pelts, which can be sold for between 5-20 gold crowns each (higher price the further from the crafting spot) to rich merchants located in various cities.
A Saldaean Farm
The farmyard is formed by barns in the north and south and a small brick
building to the east. The farmer and his wife live in the small farmhouse.
Cattle and horses are stabled in the barns. The yard is littered with straw
and small rocks. Sections of short grass grows in places.

A hunter says 'Put the hide onto the log and SCRAPE the fat and flesh from the HIDE with your knife.
A hunter says 'When you have done that you will have to RUB EGG yolk into the flesh side and let it soak for a moment.'
A hunter says 'Once it has soaked sufficiently STRETCH the SKIN and let it dry.'
A hunter says 'When it has dried SMOKE the HIDE over the FIRE.'
A hunter says 'Once you have a nice soft pelt, store it in a dry place. I am sure some rich merchant will pay handsomely for it then.'

A Small Waterfall
The passage to the north is blocked by a very steep hillside. It looks like an
earthquake tore the hill in two a long time ago. Now this small glade is
bristling with life. A stream of water is pouring down from somewhere above you
creating a small pond.

A clear pond lies undisturbed here, unmarred waters offering a clean reflection.
A campfire burns slowly, sending smoke into the sky.
A fallen tree lies upon the ground, seemingly chopped down in haste.

You scrape bits of fat and flesh from the hide with a long heavy knife.
Bits of flesh and fat fall to the ground in flakes.
You work your way across the skin.
Tanetris removes the last bits of tissue from the skin.
It is now time to take the egg yolk and rub it into the skin.

You stir the egg until it has become a sticky yellow mixture.
Tanetris pours some of the egg mixture onto the skin and starts rubbing it in.

The sticky mixture drips from the hands of Tanetris.
You pour some more egg onto the hide and smear it over the skin.
Tanetris folds the skin, leaving the fur side on the outer side.
You wait a while until the egg mixture has soaked in.
A pelt has now soaked long enough.
You can now stretch the skin.

Tanetris takes a rope and stretches a hide over some poles.
Tanetris stretches the hide over the frame.
Tanetris removes a pelt from a wooden frame.
You can now smoke the hide over the fire.

Tanetris takes a wooden frame and places it over the fire.
Tanetris rolls up the hide with the fur on the inside and hangs it over the fire.
You stir up the fire, sending smoke into the sky.
As the fumes rise they smoke the hide.
You can now place the hide over the tree to air it.

You put a freshly skinned hide of a coyote in a fallen tree.
The wind picks up, carrying with it the smoky odor from the hide.
A hide is now ready to be traded.
