Item value is the value (in coppers) of an item, used to determine its buy/sell prices in shops. Shopkeepers will generally sell items at some higher multiple of their item value, while buying at some fraction of it.

Additionally, innkeepers will give rent credit equal to the item value when sold to an inn.

Item values are independent of and not to be confused with rent cost.
