Roland Azaron, Chief of the Smugglers is a human smob found in the Braem Wood, between Caemlyn and Four Kings.

Description

"A finely dressed man moves with a deadly grace.

This man is in his middle ages, but by no means looks like he has gone soft in any way. His hard eyes tell you that he has seen tougher than the likes of you. He doesn't look pleased at being disturbed and advances with an annoyed expression."

Roland himself will load a copy of the key needed to access the doors in his hideout. In addition, a female smuggler chief loads another copy of the key at "A Secret Tunnel" in the northern entrance to the back of the cavern. Alternatively, Pick can be used to open most of the doors in the complex.

Strategies

Roland loads with 3 smuggler guards and 2 female smuggler chiefs. The minions will assist him but do not rescue, and faceoff does not apply in the room. The room is not hideable, so Backstab is not a viable tactic here.

There are no mobol restrictions against channeling in the room, and Roland himself is a relatively low level (50), so both he and the minions can be weakened greatly by Blind. Freeze can also be used to prevent his minions from assisting, allowing a group to isolate and kill the smob first. Due to his lower health pool, one or two channelers can also easily defeat him by targeting him with damage weaves and using a flee-weaving strategy. A larger traditional smob group will similarly have no trouble killing his minions and then him.
