The storm had done its damage and little fast-moving streams had developed on either side of the roadway. The Baerlon Road itself was no worse for the downpours, yet some of the lesser-used pathways in the surrounding hills had been washed out. This suited the Hillmen just fine.
It had been some time since they were ousted from their camp by brigands and it was time to make a new one. After wandering for months they were lucky to come upon a somewhat secluded area in the Hills of Absher. One should always keep an eye out for a lone traveler after all. Especially rich ones. If the region proved sufficient, they would remain. If not, they would move on to more amenable territories.
