Immortals exist on WoT to help create an immersive and compelling game experience. They're here as volunteers to contribute to those lofty goals, though they also of course address day to day problems with game operations, whether it be to deal with a bug or deliver a penalty for cheating. As such and going forward, Immortals will generally be invisible and keep quiet from chit-chat except where needed to serve one of the above mentioned purposes.
Some Immortals also play mortal characters. To help reduce (this is not expected to eliminate) the appearance of conflict of interest, going forward Immortals will be substantively delayed whenever they wish to switch between their mortal and Immortal characters. This may have the effect of one or more volunteers logging on to their Immortal less often, and thus responses to your inquiries may take longer. We will try this experiment, see how it works, and adapt accordingly.
- If you feel there is an emergency and you need the immediate assistance of an Immortal, please use PRAY, and specifically state your issue. If an Immortal is available who can help you regarding your topic, you will be answered. If you don't receive an answer within 5 minutes and it's an emergency, please mail the Staff mailbox. For non-emergency issues, please mail your Clan Watcher (or Staff if you have no Watcher assigned). If you do not receive a response to either, then there is simply no-one available to help at this particular time. - Examples of emergencies:
- You have discovered a bug that is important enough that it needs to be addressed ASAP.
- Someone is violating the Houseguest Rule.
- You are in an area of the game not open to the public.
- Examples of non-emergencies:
- You want an award for something.
- You want to chat about clan, roleplay, game ideas, etc.
- You want forum access.
- You have been warranted and want to protest it.
Please note that ...
- Immortals must be visible when correcting an in-game infraction, but otherwise may be invisible when answering you and are not required to identify who they are.
- If you see a Test Mortal on, please do not send tells or prays to that Test Mortal for non-emergency issues.
- Any posts in Announcements related to game wide policy or change will be made via this Voices account. Your clan Watcher will make posts related to specific clan topics on the private clan forum area.
