There has been a long standing bug in the way potions are mixed, that I did not realize even existed until I looked at the code to add new mixes.

After reboot, you will find two things different about potion mixing.


  • You can no longer throw in a bunch of herbs in a container and mix them and get a potion plus the surplus herbs that remain. A medicinal concoction's success relies on the correct mix of ingredients, so if the precise required collection of herbs is not in the container, you will fail at making the potion.
  • Since this fix comes way too late for the potion recipe discovery process, there has been a slight modification to each recipe, so you will have to re-discover the correct recipes in the correct way this time.


I would like to add that I realize that Nass had posted in a thread on the topic of the secrecy of potion recipes that we were not going to change the recipes. And, he was correct at the time. We had not planned on changing any of the recipes. The change has nothing to do with secrecy, but comes as a result of the fix to the mix bug. And it was indeed me that encouraged the change in recipes to be concurrent with the fix to mixing potions. So complain to me if you wish, but I will for the most part be unsympathetic.

No prac resets as a result of the change.

So, look at it as a new adventure of discovery. There is a new potion, though, that was previously unavailable. So, there's your up side
