This has become a real problem with pc's and the people behind them as of late. It has begun to effect the ability of the people to RP, seperate their characters, develop their characters and the advance the stature of the clans they belong to.
As the number of your characters go up, you begin to diminish and harm each and every character you have. You begin to neglect them. You don't develop them. And the character suffers as well as anything they are connected to suffer.
You know what I hate seeing. When I am reading through clan boards and a post of this nature "I havn't logged into the mud for a year, but I am active on this board." Honestly, that is not active. And while some people have a legitimate excuse to only use boards, most only do it because they are spread so thin, they are focused on other characters elsewhere.
So I am asking you to limit yourself to something like this. 1 Seanchan clanned character, 1 Darkside clanned character, 1 Lightside clanned character with an additional any race clanned character. That would give you four clanned characters more than enough to fill your plate. And honestly more than you should ever really have because it still runs you thin.
Honestly, it would be best if you limited yourself even beyond that to perhaps 4 total characters, 1 from each race plus the wildcard.
Because honestly, it is not the goal of a character to simply be clanned and disappear. And if that has happened, you should immediately remove yourself from the clan and delete the character by getting him below level 30 and then blindly changing the passphrase. You should do this to any character you have sitting somewhere that you do not use.
Don't trade them, don't pretend like you are saving it for something later on, don't turn it into something you cannot take care of. The goal of this game is not to stat as many characters as you can. It is to get a character and develop it from the ground up for RP or PK.
I know there is a stigma about stats. So if you want to go after something else, fine. But don't leave the old character in a place just for nostalgic reasons. Remove it from its spot and let it fade into history.
I end this with the common asking from myself. If you are unable to develop your characters, remove them from clans. All you are doing is hurting the clan itself. The Watchers enjoy an active clan, even if it is an active clan with small numbers. Leaving yourself wallowing at a clanlevel one is not an achievement, it is a disgrace.
