Weaves is an command used to display and to control the weaves that a channeler is maintaining. This is distinguished from the generic weaves article which describes the various spells a channeler has available to them.
The release ability demonstrated below has historically been used by channelers to release their light ball weave before entry into the city of Tear which would result in a warrant being issued.
The hold ability described below allows channelers who have cast status weaves on their opponents to maintain the length of these weaves for time periods that are significantly longer than the usual length of these weaves.

In Game Description[]
WEAVES Syntax: weaves [hold/tie/release] [number] When typed with no arguments this command will output a list of weave affects that are controlled by you, and their current status, tied or held. It is important to note the number associated with the affect as you will use it to control those weaves. When given the argument hold # the weaves command changes the status of the weave to held. In this mode its normal duration is suspended while you maintain the weave with a cost of 10 SPs per tic per weaves. If you should run out of SP while holding a weave in this manner you run the risk of overchanneling. Held weaves may not be maintained without being in touch with the Source. They also will not be maintained if your target enters a Stedding. When given the argument tie # the weaves command changes the status of the weave to tied. In this mode the normal duration of the weave in resumed, and the 10 SP cost per tic is removed. When given the argument release # the weaves command will remove the weaves affects from the target and will dispel the weave. See also: overchannel
